Okay, so you want to be a certified diver. AWESOME!

With your PADI Open Water Scuba certification, a whole new underwater world is open to you!

By the end of the course, you’ll have the skills, knowledge and credentials to go diving in exciting destinations all over the world.

Before you Book:

The PADI Open Water Diver certification course consists of three parts:
1. eLearning (the knowledge portion, completed independently online)
2. Confined Water (learning skills in a pool with an instructor)
3. Open Water (practicing skills in the ocean with an instructor)

Without reliable affordable access to a pool, the only path to certification that we currently offer is called an “Open Water Referral.”

To qualify for Open Water Referral, students should have completed, or plan to complete, parts 1 (eLearning) and 2 (Confined Water) with another accredited PADI dive shop before joining us to complete part 3 (Open Water). Parts 1 and 2 can be completed ahead of time, up to 1 year before completing part 3. However, doing them closer together is recommended to help with student knowledge retention.

Most students prefer this path to certification because they don’t have to waste precious vacation days sitting in a virtual classroom or stuck in a swimming pool learning skills. By doing the first parts at home, students can also help support their local dive communities, but save the open water portion of certification for the clear warm waters of Hawaii. An ideal option for students visiting from areas with access to only cold water and low-visibility.

Once eLearning and Confined Water are complete, we can finish the Open Water portion of your certification in two days, with four dives total. The two days are not required to be consecutive.

We keep our student to instructor ratios small (1:1 or 2:1). This gives students more time and personalized attention to help them make the most of their class. We find they learn more and have more fun!

Note: eLearning costs are set by PADI and Confined water costs would be determined by the dive shop you choose.

Included

Two days of boat diving on our 2-tank morning charter (four dives total).

A private instructor (maximum two students per instructor. For students under the age of 12, one instructor per student).

All the equipment you need for scuba diving (BCD, regulator, wetsuit, mask, fins, tanks, weights).

Snacks are served between dives (including our famous homemade brownies!) and a variety of hot and cold beverages are available. Our boat includes a mixture of sun and shade and a hot freshwater shower to rinse off after diving.

We offer a generous student discount during and immediately following your course on all dive equipment.

Bring with You

Swimsuit, towel, sunglasses, hat, rash guard, refillable water bottle, hair ties, reef-safe sunscreen and anything else you need for a fun day in the ocean.

Your filled out PADI training logbook confirming your successful completion of the Confined Water portion of your class. Lost it? Logbooks are available for purchase at our shop or you can purchase one with your local shop (must be a PADI training logbook). Official documentation from your other dive shop proving your successful completion of Confined Water is required before any Open Water training can begin.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

Scuba diving is an extreme sport and restrictions must be adhered to before, during and after to mitigate potential health risks. Post-diving, this includes flying, going to altitude, freediving and other activities that could contribute to Decompression Sickness.
